A Month of Gratitude: Day 14

Hello there!  It was the first day of a three-day weekend todayβ€”definitely something to feel gratitude for.  I love three-day weekends.  I find that they are just the perfect number of days to get everything you need done and rest.  Day one can be for running errands.  Day two can be for socialising, and day three can be for just chilling at home, gathering yourself, and mentally preparing for a new week.

Two Things to Be Grateful For

  1. Freedom!Β  Haha!Β  My son spent some time away so I had some alone time today.Β  The thing about being a parent is that you never know how best to use it because you want to rest, but there are things that you want to do as well, and there is only so much time!Β  Phew!Β  It’s a thrill and can be exhausting!
  2. I bought an exercise bike today.Β  It will probably only arrive next week but it is a step in the right direction.Β  I used to own but I used to get so bored riding it.Β  Watching TV is not really my thing so it didn’t help.Β  I have learnt to keep my brain entertained by listening to podcasts audion books while i get some steps in at night so I am hoping it will work with cycling as well.Β  I also plan to hop on it for 5-10 min at a time on the days when I work from home to give my eyes a break from the screen and to get my circulation going rather than being stuck behind a desk all day. Β  This also fits in with my word for 2025, which is β€œWellness”. Β  As I have mentioned before, this was not my best health year so I am grateful that I still can remedy that.

One Moment of Joy

Nothing beats a weekend nap on the couch in front of the TV in my opinion.  It just hits differently.  So that was my moment of joy for today, that afternoon that I got to enjoy.

Thanks for popping by.  What are you grateful for today?  Let me know in the comments.

Bye for now

A Month of Gratitude 2024: Day 13

Hello Hello. How has your Friday the 13th been? Mine has felt like a day of closure. Of course, closed/closing doors is also something to be grateful for.

Two Things I am Grateful for

  1. The squad that I have led for most of this year has been dissolved. It has been an amazing journey with a team that has a diverse set of skills and are just all-around awesome people. New relationships have been formed, and new skills have been gained. Most importantly, we have generated new information to help propel the business forward. I am pretty proud of what we have accomplished, and I am grateful that we had the opportunity that we did.
  2. I have been trying to upgrade my cellphone for the past week. I have never had an issue with walking into a cellphone store and just getting it done. Last week, they had no stock of the phone I wanted. They were supposed to order it and call me by Wednesday. I never heard back from that store. This evening, I visited another store. They had stock. I made an appointment to do the paperwork later, as requested. They were supposed to call me, and, you guessed it, they didn’t. I am taking it as a sign that either I should forget about that phone for now, or now is just not the time to be upgrading as a better deal will come my way in the near future. I am going to be grateful that this door has closed for now and trust that a better one will open instead.

One Moment of Joy

In all honesty, the fact that I have made it through another week is a moment of celebration in my books. I started this week aware that my team and I had a lot to accomplish and that there were certain balls that we could not drop. We did what we needed to do, so I am very proud of my team and myself.

I will leave you with pic of one of the cats that have adopted me. I call him Fred. He is a feisty young cat who can be a bit of a bully. This evening, I caught him squeezing himself onto my chair he is not allowed on and then proceeding to have a good nap. He was not impressed when I woke him. 😜

Thanks for popping by. Let me know what you have been grateful for today.

Bye for now.

A Month of Gratitude 2024: Day 12

Hello there! Well, did I not say that I usually get things for free on or around the 12th??? Well, it happened again. I have a lot to be grateful for today.

Two Things I am Grateful For

  1. I usually take two weeks’ leave in January so that I have a little break and get my son sorted for the start of the school year. I generally only have two weeks of leave left at the end of the year, anyway. For whatever reason, I assumed that I was in the same position again this year. I went online to put my leave in the system, and to my delight, I had seventeen days left! I get to take three weeks leave this year! Whoop whoop! How’s that for an awesome surprise! Thank you God! I really need it this year.
  2. I have been hoping that the Vaseline team would gift the team with the sun hats that they have been handing out to influencers and as part of their summer campaign. Today, I walked into a meeting with the team, and hanging on each of our chairs was a cute mesh beach bag which contained…yes, you guessed it, the Vaseline sun hat! Double Whoop Whoop! I was so thrilled. Two great surprises in one day! How lucky can a girl be! πŸ˜€

One Source of Joy

I went out with my son for dinner this evening. What was special tonight was that he didn’t touch his cell phone the entire time we were there. We actually had a conversation over a meal and had some quality time together. I really enjoyed the evening.

Well, that’s it from me. Thanks for popping by. What are you grateful for today? Let me know in the comments.

Bye for now.
