A Month of Gratitude 2024: Day 6

Hello Hello! Phew, the first work week of December is done and dusted. Mine ended on a high note as we had our end-of -year team build session today. It was such good fun! That’s where I will start my moments of gratitude for today.

Two Things I am Grateful For

  1. I am grateful for today’s team event for so many reasons.
    • It was a very active so it was a much needed workout. My mind and my energy feel clearer.
    • The day was spent with a great team of people, many of whom I consider my friends.
    • I received a Lush scrubee as my secret santa gift and I tried it out this evening. It was a a great sensorial experience! I really love the fragrance as well.
  2. I am also grateful that I was able to accomplish all that I set out to do this week at work. It was a tight squeeze but, with the help of my team and colleagues, I did what I needed to do and a little extra. I am really grateful for my team and colleagues. Without them it would not be possible to do my job to the best of my ability.

One Source of Joy

Today was a big day for my son. He successfully completed his first babysitting gig. His little customer and his customer’s mum were very happy with his service. My heart is bursting with joy and pride as I sit and watch him grow.

Thanks for popping by. Let me know in the comments what you are grateful for in the comments.

Bye for now

A Month of Gratitude 2024: Day 5

Well. It’s 23:30 as I write this so I am definitely cutting it close today. I just didn’t want to break the chain.

I have to admit that I am super tired as I have only just finished the urgent and important stuff on my plate. The good news is that tomorrow is a team get together day so it will be a bit of downtime for a change.

I guess the thing I am most grateful for today is that I can afford the technology that I have. It is liberating. Yesterday afternoon, I took my son to play soccer with his friends, and I needed to wait at the venue. I also had a meeting that I needed to dial into. So there I was, multitasking to the max, and all I needed was my cellphone and AirPods. I even found myself dashing into Starbucks in the middle of the meeting because I really needed a coffee. None of this was possible 10 – 15 years ago, and in South Africa, this level of convenience is still out of reach for at least a third of the population.

For my son, this is all the norm, but for me, it is utterly mindblowing that my whole world is on that cellphone. I don’t even need a purse anymore! I am really grateful that I am able to afford and use the tech that is now available to us. It’s amazing!

I am going to keep it short and sweet tonight. Thanks for popping by!

Bye for now!

A Month of Gratitude 2024: Day 4

Hello There. I hope you had a good day today. Mine was manic, to put it politely. Despite this, it did yield a few moments that made me stop and think of the things I need to be grateful for.

Two Things I Am Grateful For

  1. My son came to work with me today. I love it when he does that. It reminds me of when I was pregnant and he went everywhere with me. He hates it now because it is terribly boring for him as a he is a teen but it doesn’t stop me from loving it 😊.
  2. My son has virtually grown up at our office. As a single mum, I have been extremely blessed to take him to work with me whenever I need to over the years. My colleagues would take turns entertaining him while I worked. I will always be grateful to my managers and colleagues for the support they have given me over the years. They have helped me make single parenthood look easy.

One Source of Joy

I love the Zen garden at our office. It is a very peaceful place even though it is close to a freeway. As I mentioned before, today was manic, but amid all the chaos, I could share a moment of peace with my son in the Zen garden. For a moment, it was just us, the trees and the chirping birds, who went about their business. And of course…coffee!

Our little piece of heaven at work

That’s it from me today. Share your moments of gratitude or joy in the comments. I would love to hear from you.

Bye for now!
