A Mother’s Gratitude – Day 10 2025

Where has the time gone? My son received his report today. He has passed grade 11! I am so proud of him. 2026 is his final year of high school. I still remember his first day of primary school so clearly, and now here we are. God has been good to us. Thank you, God.

Today he also had his first lesson with a driving school. He was so excited. By the middle of next year, he will have his driver’s license. This probably means my car will no longer be my own…lol. I am really proud of the independent and responsible person he has become. I pray that he will always be this independent and responsible. I pray that he will always be as kind and as loving as he is now. Thank you God for blessing me with my son. Thank you for choosing me to raise him. Thank you for trusting me with his life.

My son has taught me to view the world through a child’s eyes again. He inspired me to be more creative with how I approached problems and life in general. Being his mother has taught me what it means to let go and have faith. Raising him has taught me what unconditional love truly means and what it feels like. Because of him, I know what fulfilment feels like and let’s not forget real joy. It Being his mother has really opened up a new world for me.

Gratitude for the People Who Held Space for Me – Day 9 -2025

 Reflection

As I have mentioned in previous posts, this has been a very challenging year for me for several reasons. Most challenges were work-related. There were times when I was simply exhausted. Thankfully, I am still standing. I can still smile and laugh. I can still be kind even though quite a few people have not been kind to me this year. That’s on them though.

I can do all this because God always goes before me, and I have amazing friends and family who always make space for me when I need it. I am so grateful that they let me talk through my experiences for hours on end sometimes. It really helped me get some perspective, and their advice was pure gold. Thank you God for your guidance. Thank you to my friends and family for letting me talk your ear off some nights. Thank you for distracting me from my problems but sharing your stories with me.

It’s been a tough year, but I have made it, and I did it with amazing people holding my hand.

To my friends and family

Thank you for being my confidant, always listening without judgment. Your support and encouragement have helped me to overcome some of the toughest challenges I have faced. I am so grateful for your presence in my life. Thank you for being there for me, for your unwavering support, and for being the kind of person who makes the world a better place. I am blessed to call you my friends and family.

Today’s Quote

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Gratitude For Work That Challenged Me – Day 8 2025

Reflection

This year has been one of the most challenging years at work. I had a new team and a demanding programme to deliver. We achieved most of what we set out to do. I am very proud and grateful that we did. Priorities changed, and team members changed, but we did it in the end. There is still much to be done in the little time we have left before 2026 rolls around.

I have enjoyed the challenges that this year has brought. I am grateful for them. I always feel like a lack of growth is akin to a slow and painful death. Life becomes boring. So I am definitely grateful for the challenges, the growth and the feeling of being alive that it all brings.

A Question for You

What is one thing in your life that challenged you this year that you feel grateful for?

Daily Quote
