Do you want to time travel?

Once again, I have spent the entire day thinking about today’s prompt which asks what year I would time travel to and why. The only answer I could come up with is that the only place I want to be is here and now. This is all that I have and it is enough.

I thought about going back in time and spending time with my late mum or reliving a happy occcasion but I came to the conclusion that all of that is in the past and that I am who I am today because of all that has already happened. Don’t get me wrong, I miss my mum terribly but going back in time to spend time with her will only make me miss her more. Besides, I know that she walks with me every day and that when I need her most she will make her prescence felt. It’s not the same as having her here but it helps hugely. Her transition was also the catalyst in my spiritual growth. Thanks to this spiritual journey, I am happy with the person that I am right now and with the person that I am becoming. I don’t want to change any of it.

As for a trip into the future, well, it’s definitely a no from me on that one too. I want to enjoy every moment of this journey and be surprised by what life has in store for me. I want life to unfold as it will based on the decisions I make today. There are so many paths before me and each just have different experinces on it but all ultimately lead to the same place, a fulfilled me at one with my Creator. I know that is the destination so I want to just enjoy the ride.

But that’s just my take on this prompt. Which year would you time travel to and why? Let me know in the comments 🙂

A pic is worth a thousand words

Photography is definitely on my list of skills I wish I had. I have been fortunate enough to go on a course and during lockdown I dialled into and Apple hosted course on iPhone photography. I learned a lot but didn’t apply it often enough.

That being said, there is one picture that I took of my son about 2-3 years ago that makes my heart sing. He looks so carefree and happy to my eye. I love looking at it. We were just messing around on a Saturday evening in the mall. It’s not often he lets me take a pic of him so when he offered to pose, I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity!

My favourite pic of my son

I suspect live subjects might be more my thing than landscapes although I would really love to be a landscape photographer. I love taking pics of nature but I just never seem to capture the beauty that my eyes see. (If that makes sense).

Below is a pic of our beautiful curious George that I took about a month ago. This kitty has my heart. Maybe that is why I do better with live subjects, there is a piece of my heart that goes into it. Perhaps, subconsciously, I hope that the pictures I take convey the words that I can’t or may not say often enough. Who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️. #loveliveshere

What do you like to take pictures of?

Life’s mysteries

According to the Oxford dictionary, a mystery is ‘the quality of being difficult to understand or to explain’. With that definition in mind, I have spent the day trying to think of something that I definitely no explanation for. I cane up with a few like my ghostly experience in Egypt. You can read about that here. That was definitely mysterious!

Then there was my ex boyfriend who, according to a medium, was an Egyptian somebody in a past life and he has 2 Anubis looking dudes that watch over him. (Strange about that Egyptian connection here too. 🤔)I wouldn’t have believed it but there were times when I would wake up in the middle of the night and sense a strong presence next to our bed. I didn’t feel threatened by it but I was aware it was there. We only found out about his apparent guardians when we broke up so maybe there is some truth to the story…🤷🏽‍♀️

But the greatest mystery of all in my book is how the heck do I end up with so many odd socks!!! I mean, it’s just my son and I at home. I do the washing. I take off two matching socks and put them in the washing basket and somehow, ever so often, only one finds it’s way out of the wash. Where does the other one go??? But wait, it gets better! At one point I had bought a pack of 5 pairs of socks. I wore pairs 1 to 4 on consecutive days and when I got to the 5th pair, (Chang Chang Chaaaang!) there was only one! 😱😱😱 How??? There were 2 of them the day before! I kid you not! Where did it go??? Since that episode, I firmly believe in sock elves. It’s the only explanation! How else do you explain that missing sock? It didn’t even make it to the laundry basket! 🥺

So there you have, there are definitely some mysteries out there that we may never solve and thank goodness for that too. I believe it adds so spice to life🤪. What mysteries have you encountered??
