A pic is worth a thousand words

Photography is definitely on my list of skills I wish I had. I have been fortunate enough to go on a course and during lockdown I dialled into and Apple hosted course on iPhone photography. I learned a lot but didn’t apply it often enough.

That being said, there is one picture that I took of my son about 2-3 years ago that makes my heart sing. He looks so carefree and happy to my eye. I love looking at it. We were just messing around on a Saturday evening in the mall. It’s not often he lets me take a pic of him so when he offered to pose, I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity!

My favourite pic of my son

I suspect live subjects might be more my thing than landscapes although I would really love to be a landscape photographer. I love taking pics of nature but I just never seem to capture the beauty that my eyes see. (If that makes sense).

Below is a pic of our beautiful curious George that I took about a month ago. This kitty has my heart. Maybe that is why I do better with live subjects, there is a piece of my heart that goes into it. Perhaps, subconsciously, I hope that the pictures I take convey the words that I can’t or may not say often enough. Who knows 🤷🏽‍♀️. #loveliveshere

What do you like to take pictures of?

31 days of Gratitude: Day 16

16/12/2021

🌼Today I am grateful for the Christmas’s I got to spend with my mum. This evening Alex and I put up the Christmas tree while listening to some Christmas carols. I found myself in tears as the carols took me back to 40+ years of midnight masses with our family. My mum loved those services and especially the Christmas carols. So today I am grateful for all the Christmas’s that I was blessed to spend with her and our family. 🌼

My month of gratitude: Day 30

🌼Today I am grateful that my son is finally home. I will probably have one of my best sleeps tonight. 😁 I am also grateful that I was were able to travel to pick him up and bring him home safely. Lastly I am grateful for the time I have had to myself. It was unexpected and uncomfortable initially but I am glad that it happened. I needed it more than I realised. 🌼
