Quote of the day: Naval Ravikant

“The measure of wisdom is how calm you are when facing any given situation.”

Naval Ravikant

Oh how I needed this reminder yesterday. I am an emotional person by nature and like everyone else have the odd person that rubs me up the wrong way no matter how much I try to be patient and keep a positive frame of mind when interacting with them. I know I should hold my tongue and just breathe but some days they catch me with my guard down. Their intentions are good. They are just trying to do their job but their methods just mess with my peace somehow

How do you deal with situations like these?

Quote of the day: Oprah Winfrey

“It all boils down to one thing…it is your ‘relationship’ to the source, and that relationship to that which we call God, or don’t call God, or don’t even know…is God. It is ALL that really matters…when you surrender, and stop resisting, and stop trying to change that which you cannot change, but be in the moment, be fully open to the blessings you have already received, and those that are yet to come to you, and stand in that space of gratitude, and honor, and claim that for yourself, and look at where you are, and how far you have come, and what you’ve gotten, and what you’ve accomplished, and who you are. When you can claim ‘that’, and see that, the literal vibration of your life will change.”

Oprah Winfrey

On this day 4 years ago, I officially became a home owner. It was huge for me because I had always been a commitment phobe in just about every aspect of my life. To me this day is a symbol of that literal change in my life’s vibration that Oprah speaks about in today’s quote because it took taking the time to be grateful for I what had and where I was and surrendering to what will be to get me to the point of committing to buying a house.

The best part is that on the same day that my commitment to owning a home became real, I met my tattoo guy who brought so much more into my life and helped me grow in ways I could not have imagined.

I have learnt that there is far more power in practicing gratitude, showing active faith and surrendering to God’s will than there is in trying to control everything and in fighting your own battles. When you practice each of these, the literal vibration of your life does change and it is always for the better, even when it doesn’t seem like it at first.

Let go and let God.
