Superwoman I am not, but…

β€œNever underestimate the valuable and important difference you make in every life you touch for the impact you make today has a powerful rippling effect on every tomorrow.”

Leon Brown

I am listening to Day 5 of Tony Robbins Ultimate Breakthrough Challenge while I write this. To me he is an example of someone who has made a difference in so many people’s lives in some way. I remain a member of the challenge’s facebook page as every single day, someone from somewhere in the world tells their story of success. Their stories are so inspiring and a constant reminder of what is possible.

Today’s prompt asks how I change the world. The truth is that I don’t believe that I change the world but I do believe that I am here because I matter. I also believe that we are all here to serve to each other. How we serve is what makes our impact different. So my belief that directs how I now live my life is that I am here because I matter and because I am here to serve. I have a personal mission statement that I created as an output of a course I attended in 2020. It is as follows: “I am a dynamic life transformer. I enlighten, educate and empower people to unleash their full potential.” As I mentioned in my response to day 16 , I get my energy from empowering others and that statement helps keep me focused on why I am here and why I do what I do.

As I mentioned before as well, I believe that my job is me. I believe that I am responsible for doing the work on myself to change my world. If I make positive changes to my world then I am more likely to positively impact the world of those around me.

So, Superwoman I am not, therefore changing the world is probably a bit of a stretch for me. However, nothing is impossible so watch this space. πŸ˜‰ That being said, I can however change my world and hopefully, positively impact yours in someway. 😊

Rhythm is life and life is Rhythm

I don’t remember what song that was from and I am too lazy to look it up right now but it sums up how I feel about music. I love music because I love dancing if that makes sense.

My playlist is filled with the songs that I danced to in the club back in the day with awesome friends, family and acquaintances. I listen to them every day in the car. I see that quite a few has crept on to my son’s playlist too now🀭

My old party songs

β€œThe times you lived through, the people you shared those times with – nothing brings it all to life like an old mix tape. It does a better job of storing up memories than actual brain tissue can do. Every mix tape tells a story. Put them together, and they can add up to the story of a life.”

Rob Sheffield

I guess to todays playlists are the equivalents of mixtapes. 😊

The songs that lift my spirit

Music also helps me remain grateful and feel closer to God. So I have a playlist for that as well. On that note, I will love and leave you with this quote from the great man himself, Louis Armstrong

β€œMusic is life itself.”

Louis Armstrong

My sanctuary

Solitude is my happy place. I can be alone in a crowd and be happy much like a couple newly in love that creates their own world whereever they go. I used to be anxious about it when I was younger but not anymore. I love being on my own but within limits.

My favourite place to be alone is in my home. It’s my haven. It’s where I can just be. No judgement. No minding my p’s and q’s. I just am. I love pottering around the house and the garden and then curling up with a good book. Now and then I will dedicate a weekend to a series on Netflix. I have to watch a season at a time or it will bother me. I can no longer survive on one episode a week. πŸ™ˆ Netflix has spoilt me. My son is at that age where he is glued to some form of a screen at any point in time but when he needs to take a break, he knows where to find me.

I also like enjoy chilling in my little garden. There is a bush behind my house that houses, what sounds like, a lot of different birds and there are lots of beautiful butterflies that flutter about. Even though I live just above a busy main road, the bush helps drown out the sound of traffic so I am able to focus on the birds singing in the trees. I never see them. I only ever hear them. I also enjoy watching the kittens have a blast chasing whatever insect crawls or flies by. They think my irises are their own personal jungle where they get to play hide-and-seek with each other. πŸ˜‚ They are the cutest. Being in the garden is also my opportunity to ground myself.

So while I can happily be alone anywhere, my favourite place is definitely my home.

As much as I love solitude, I do need my daily dose of people though.
