Gratitude for Rest – Day 12 2025

Reflection

It’s not that often that I find myself absolutely exhausted but this year I experienced it far too often. Last night I was just too tired to even think of writing. This morning I woke up feeling a little unwell, still exhausted and my body felt like it had been hit by a train.

No doubt, it’s a sign that I need to rest more often, given how much more stressful work in particular has become. That’s exactly what I plan to do this weekend. Sleep, potter around the house and garden, read and watch a bit of TV. My body and mind need to unplug for a bit. I might consider a walk along the beach as well just to clear my head. An added bonus is that I have taken Monday off and Tuesday is a public holiday so it’s an extra long weekend for me. 💃🏽💃🏽

How do you unplug and unwind?

I’ll leave you with Anne Lamott’s words of wisdom on rest.

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.

That’s it for today. Bye for now 🌼

31 Days of Gratitude: Day 15

15/12/21

🌼Today I am grateful for this coming long weekend and the opportunity to rest. I am so exhausted that I have fallen asleep at about 8:30pm the last 2 nights. Shock and horror for a night owl like me 😱😂 This weekend though I get to rest and spend some time with my son. I am also grateful that those that I know with covid are doing well and are on their way to recovery. Today I am definitely grateful for the opportunity to rest. 🌼

A month of gratitude: Day 26

🌼I am grateful for this day. Today was a day of rest. My son and I went out for brunch and watched “Spies in disguise” and had a good laugh and when we got home I curled up with a book and promptly passed out. It was the best afternoon nap I have had in ages. I am grateful for this day (and especially for quality afternoon naps).🌼
