My Month of Gratitude: Day 26

I was listening to Les Brown’s “The Power of Purpose” on Audible and he spoke about the importance of keeping your commitments to yourself. That’s when I realised that I had not being as disciplined as previous years in keeping my commitment to be grateful for something everyday. So here I am, seeing it through because I want to. Because it brings me joy and a sense of awe at all when I think of all the things I can be grateful for, both big and small.

🌼Today I am grateful for so much. A wonderfulChristmas spent with family. The means to purchase the one gift that my son really wanted. Safe travels to and from my sister’s place. My family’s health which allowed us to spend Christmas together. This time that I have to myself because my son unexpectedly ended up spending his holiday with his dad’s family. My neighbours for the wonderful impromptu conversations. I have so much to be grateful for. Thank you God🌼

I didn’t really take any pics this Christmas. Below is a collage of the only pics I took. I lived in the moment and completely forgot about my phone and it was just awesome. The pudding was a traditional Christmas pudding that my late mum used to make for us every single Christmas. This was the first time I made it and, thankfully, it tasted just like hers. I was so glad and very grateful to be able to bring an element of the Christmas she created for us into our celebration yesterday. For my efforts I found a R5 in my pudding. 😁😁

A few memories from this Christmas…

My Month of Gratitude: Day 15

🌼I am grateful for the challenges that come my way. Some feel like they will break me but, in the end, I always pull through. I would like to believe, that I come out on the other side standing taller, a little wiser and with my faith that much stronger. I am always guided, directed, protected and provided for. Thank you God for the challenges that come my way and for the growth that they bring.🌼

My Month of Gratitude: Day 12

🌼Today I am grateful for God’s Grace. A new milestone was achieved today. I am so thrilled! Today is also my grandmother’s heavenly birthday. Strangely enough, I got a free large coffee today because they didn’t have the smaller size that I had ordered. Last year, on the 12/12, my son’s jeans were free due to an error at the till. Thank you Gran for your birthday blessings😉. I am grateful for God’s Grace (and my gran’s blessings😁)🌼

Month of Gratitude: Day 7

🌼Today I am grateful for our little pets. Hammy Hamster (his name was actually Neymar but we called him Hammy anyway) passed on today. My heart is very sore. He was the friendliest little character. Always shot out of his house whenever he smelt our food. He always came out to say good morning. I guess it was good night for him before he settled in for his daytime sleep.

My son is going to be crushed when comes home from his little holiday. He loved Hammy to bits.

The fish keep me entertained, especially the two black guppies. They chase each other around the tank all day long. I love how they congregate in the corner when they see me coming, hoping for a morsel. You would swear they are puppies with the way they wag their tails. It’s the cutest thing. I am definitely grateful for our pets. 🌼

It’s been one week of intentionally being grateful. I really need to do this everyday but in my gratitude journal. I think I will make that a goal for 2021 and see what happens. This has been an awesome 7 days. I have had quite a few pleasant surprises and I feel great. Even the scale dropped slightly after 5 weeks of exercise. 😁 Gratitude is magic! 🙌

Our beloved pets. We lost the Siamese fighter on Easter Sunday.
