Month of Gratitude: Day 4

🌼Today I am grateful for all our firsts this year. My son and I had our first train ride together on the Inchanga Choo Choo before lockdown. Awesome afternoon with my best friend and her family. We visited the Japanese Gardens in Durban North. We had driven past it so many times and had never stopped and walked through it until a week or two before lockdown. One of the monkeys wanted my phone and wasn’t taking no for an answer so we had to run for our lives😂.

I took Alex to the drive-in for first time and we were involved in his first (and, God willing, his last) car accident on our way home. 😔 We were not hurt fortunately but it was a real shock to our systems. Our car was written off so now we are living the car-less life for the first time😂. We are so over it so God willing we will have a new one in the coming weeks.

I am so grateful for our firsts this year 🌼

2020 Memories

A month of gratitude: Day 7

🌼I am grateful for my new coffee machine. About 3 weeks ago I bought a new coffee machine at the urging of my son. It is a pod machine. Little did I know that he wanted me to buy it so that he could make me a “special” cup of coffee in the morning that I could enjoy in bed. He can make a normal cup but doesn’t enjoy the process. With this machine, he can make it with ease and he even cleans up afterward. This is rare but it also tells me how much he enjoys using the machine. The joy on his face when he brings me that morning coffee is priceless. (the novelty has worn off so I now get on weekends only and not week days anymore). I get to enjoy a good cup of coffee in bed (that I didn’t have to make) every Saturday and Sunday morning while I read or journal which has always been a little dream of mine and my son gets to feel like he started his day doing something special for his mum (and he has!). It’s the little things that count. Thank you for my new coffee machine. 🌼
