Bloganuary Day 11
Today’s Prompt: How do you define success?
It’s day 11 and I am tired of writing a post a post a day already but here I am. I guess in that respect I am already successful in maintaining a daily writing habit up until this point.
If I think about it, to me success is made up of at least 3 parts:
- Do what you say you will do.
- As Matthew McConaughey reminds us on IG- Don’t half-*ss it!
- Leave the world a little better than you found it when you are done even if the outcome is not quite what you intended it to be.
I’m going to keep it short and sweet today. Would you add anything further to those 3 parts? Looking forward to reading everyone else’s definitions.

I agree with your three parts.
I also agree with you that I’m getting tired of writing them too.
While I’m reading great stuff in many blogs, for me, I think the prompts are too generic. They either have to go deeper or just be more fun/silly.
What do you think?

Thanks. Yes. I agree. The past few days have been a bit generic. Hopefully we will receive more interesting prompts soon.

I don’t answer everyday because sometimes the prompt is a dud to me. Like the family history, my family is crap, no need to look very far back into that garbage bin.

I can understand that. I answer to keep writing everyday but perhaps I can write on a topic that does interest me on the days that the prompt is uninspiring and skip the prompt.

Yeah, I am skipping today. I do not have a riveting view on how I hate the laundry.

This was very good. I like Matthew Mc…..(I can never spell his last name). Have you read his book Green lights? I kind of feel the same way about the questions, but its a fun way to journal and think a little more about how I would answer. I think the days are off though….but maybe not.

Thank you. Yes I had to google his surname because I can’t spell it either. Lol. I hear you about the questions. Maybe I am a little jaded because this is my 2nd time around and versions of these questions were asked last year and I don’t really have anything new to add…..🤔

That makes sense….I wouldn’t want to repeat either. This was my first year so I’ll push through it. I take part in a great link party called Wednesday quotes hosted by Marsha Ingrao… if that’s something that interests you. We post every wednesday and she has the year pretty much planned out. I’ve really enjoyed it and you can spin it however you want. Here’s her link.

Thank you for sharing. I might just join you on that challenge. I love quotes and it looks it will give me a creative way to share them. 😊
